    Recap AMA With Dunk Exchange

    On July 22th 2021, our community had a chance to welcome Kevin Kim – Creative Designer Of Dunk to join in an AMA to give fruitful information about the key features and roadmap of Dunk Exchange – A Decentralised and Transparent Resale NFT Platform.

    Part 1: Project and Guest Introduction.
    Question 1. Firstly, can you give me brief introduction about your management team and Dunk Exchange?
    Kevin Kim:
    Hi I’m Kevin. I’m in charge of Creative Design for the DUNK Project. To briefly explain about myself, I am also the head of design for Out of Stock – the leading partner of DUNK — Out of Stock is the first Sneaker resale platform and one of the leading platforms in South Korea!
    DUNK is rooted in the first sneaker resale platform in Korea, Out of Stock (OOS). From the beginning, OOS understood the consumers’ needs for accurate inspection service for purchasing items at the value-added price. Since the launch of the service, shoppers on OOS have never traded fake sneakers.
    Our team members believed in revolutionising the resale platform globally, therefore, such characteristics we have established at OOS, will be further extended on DUNK with blockchain technologies of Decentralized Exchange (DEX), and Non-fungible Token (NFT).
    Question 2: Please share a few major milestones of DUNK EXCHANGE during its development process.
    Kevin Kim:
    One of the key competitiveness of DUNK project is our team. We have a very strong team of ~20 people. On the development side, we have a solid tech team members who’s working very hard to develop our sneaker exchange platform. They have a strong track record of building exchange and NFT platforms for many years. We are very lucky to work with this highly experienced development team, as we have achieved major milestones.
    Currently, the website is underdevelopment and we have an open market place fully working with authentication, auction, special services and many more. We are sure we are the leading innovative Decentralized Resale Shoe platform, providing real use-case for our users to have exposure to NFT Sneakers.
    Question 3: Could you share with us your plan to expand locally as well as globally?
    Kevin Kim:
    Users are able to sell and purchase Sneaker NFTs globally, however authentication services are temporarily limited locally. Instead of relying on a few authentication partners, DUNK is expanding the partnership globally to achieve a fake-free world.
    OOS will be the main platform authenticating shoes and shoes that have been verified will be uploaded as NFTs, allowing users from around the globe to freely trade them.
    Eventually, DUNK will become a global inspection station that helps fashion fans to enjoy the fake free trading platform. As more authentication service providers cooperate with DUNK, NFT will be recognized as a global standard digital certificate.
    DUNK’s powerful inspection service will be open to all fashion fans who are willing to enjoy an extensive and accurate authentication service.

    Question 1: your platform strives for providing a simple and fun experience to creating great products that unlock the full potential of decentralization. How will DUNK maintain it’s scalability and functionality in the market? What priority plan for this year for DUNK? @csu02632547
    Kevin Kim:
    The Sneaker Resale market is composed of users from all around the globe. However, due to the limitations of authentication companies, users have a hard time trading and delivering shoes across the globe. NFTs and blockchain can solve this issue through the DUNK Auction system where users can come and freely trade in a borderless manner.
    Also, NFTs act as a an authentication certificate to the shoe as the NFT is only created after authenticated by OOS, the biggest resale shoe company in Korea.
    Question 2: Nowaday, the problem that is been associated with Decentralized Exchanges are poor liquidity infrastructure, non attractive trading interface, poor customer support. From a technical point of view, does #Dunk have long lasting solutions to the problems listed above? @Nguyn31288314
    Kevin Kim:
    DUNK aims to create a seamless Sneaker NFT Trading platform. One way we are overcoming scalability issues is the expansion from Ethereum to Binance Smart Chain and other chains. This allow users to Trade and Mint NFTs with higher speed and lower transaction fees.
    There are no direct liquidity or scalability issues as the market for resale shoes is big enough and the NFT market is likewise booming. More users will come and actively trade in the platform.
    Question 3: In the bad situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, every industry was heavily affected. Does it affect on the growth of @dunk_exchange team and its ? What are your plans to turn challenges into opportunities for $DUNK Development? @Nani_C4
    Kevin Kim:
    It is unfortunate that the COVID-19 Pandemic has negatively impacted numerous industries. Despite the obstacle, it has not had a detrimental effect on the growth of the DUNK Development.
    We work in a team of experts with extensive experience and we are prepared for any challenges that presents itself. Covid-19 has made it clear than ever there is a need for platforms like DUNK Exchange that allows users to obtain access to exclusive sneakers without physically coming in contact with others when obtaining it. Users can purchase and trade Sneakers without leaving the comforts of their homes.
    Question 4: What is #DUNK revenue model? In which ways do you generate revenue/profit?So many projects just like to speak about the “long term vision and mission” but what are your short terms objectives? What are you focusing right now? @luckyjem02
    Kevin Kim:
    Of course, a long term vision for DUNK is our core focus, however we also have short term objectives. We are in the process of preparing small details before launching our platform. This will bring everyone a step closer to transforming the sneaker resale industry!.
    Question 5: At the moment , where you are focusing right now ? building and developing product or getting customers and users, or partnerships ? Could you share it? @DouSaitama
    Kevin Kim:
    Currently we are heavily focusing on developing a robust and secure platform. This will allow DUNK to be a leading pioneer and solution to implement innovative technology that will elevate Decentralized and NFT technology with the Fashion Resale world.
    We have seen user demand for the platform we are trying to build, so our main focus is giving users what they truly want!
    Question 1: Today, users are increasingly concerned about privacy issues when there are many user data leaks in the world. So how do you solve this problem? @quavina12
    Kevin Kim:
    Great Question!
    First of all, shoes need authentication through OOS, however the NFTs are fully owned by users in their wallets. Therefore, when users come and trade in the platform, they are not exposed to any personal information getting disclosed.
    Like the driven concept of Web3, we aim to decentralize the Resale Shoe Market through DUNK!
    Question 2: Does your project also provide a platform for Dex, STAKING and Farming in future plans? To increase profits for token holders?When do you think of integrating other blockchain into the project like BSC, HECO? Any plans for higher coverage? @dammemuahang
    Kevin Kim:
    We have different protocols already build into the system to incentivize our DUNK token holders. DUNK token holders can obviously stake their DUNK tokens to receive rewards in DUNK Tokens.
    However, the real exciting part comes from the Lottery and TIER System.
    For the Lottery, Limited Edition Shoes and Collaboration Sneakers will be up for Lottery, and users with DUNK tokens can come and participate in the Lottery to win them!
    Additionally, different sneakers will be sold through different TIER levels as these tiered auctioned products will provide special benefits to TIERED users such as Retail Priced Sale and Limited Edition Shoes that you won’t be able to easily find in other platforms.
    Therefore, the utility and value that DUNK token provides is more than enough! Please stay tuned!
    Question 3: Can you briefly describe your PARTNERSHIP so far and upcoming partnerships? @kimchimay
    Kevin Kim:
    We have a list of different partners. Our two Main Partners are
    OOS – Out Of Stock is the leading Sneaker Authentication Company in Korea. They also hold the Authentication Patent in Korea.
    FakeX – A leading Fake-Proof Platform that provides verification to the authentication and condition of the Shoe.

    Question 4: Too many projects promise magic but never release any working product or prove any revenue, Within a short/long time of release. Is your project also like this???? @BoobbyNoeo
    Kevin Kim:
    Definitely not. We are different to other projects that only focused on easy gains.
    We aim to bring connect the current fashion world and market to the decentralized NFT world. We are only implementing NFTs and blockchain because there is real demand for this technology in the market to prevent fraud and scams 😜. DUNK will be the leading pioneer in this market.
    Question 5: Do you have user manual or short videos that would guide potential users of project to safely navigate your platform? @gammananoplus
    Kevin Kim:
    We understand the platform is targeting both Crypto and Non-Crypto users as there is demand from both sides.
    Obviously, education and How-To’s are key material to help users utilize the platform more easily. However, we have made the platform very user friendly therefore, not many will have a hard time using it.
    On the other hand, we already have prepared materials to educate users (beginners especially) to make the most out of the DUNK platform.

    Question 6: Current NFT is a hot topic, but are NFT not just for art.
    ⚡️Does your project #Dunk will think that more real world use cases will emerge for NFTs as time goes on, why should we take NFTs seriously according to your project ? @Nani_C4
    Kevin Kim:

    I am sure we all know the benefits of NFTs such as Transparency, Interoperability and many more. NFT sales open up a new space for users from all around the globe to come and trade freely.
    In the Sneakers Resale market, many users sell fake shoes and buyers are unable to check them before receiving them. NFTs are directly tagged to the real shoe, therefore this solution solves the issue of authentication problems.
    DUNK is one of the leading projects that bring real value and growth to the NFT ecosystem!
